The gear designed mechanism prevents the clamping pressure from backing off and allows the clamp pressure to be vibration resistant. Quick Release Button: Jorgensen style 38000 gear clamp has a distinctive power bar design which allows for rapid action clamping. With a quick push on the power bar the gear clamp develops up to 600 lbs. of clamping force. The handy quick Release button releases the clamp instantly. Maximum Opening Capacity: 8 inches. Throat depth is 3 inches. Maximum Load Limit: 600 pounds. Rapid Action: The handy quick release button releases the clamp instantly. With a quick push on the power bar the gear clamp is easy to adjust and release. Minimal Movement During Tightening: Holds very well and doesn't cause "shifting" or "twisting" while tightening. Note: Open the handle to the maximum, then slide to clamp whatever you are clamping, then pull the lever towards the black bar; otherwise, it might come loose.
